Mandy Carmody
Mandy started her career in manufacturing. Working in the production of clothing she understood the need for good quality from the start. Her next role was with a major high street retailer, which gained her a massive amount of experience and a deep knowledge of greater industry. Following promotions foreign travel and work was offered.
With this background of working with constantly changing environments, she expanded her focus. Her experience now included detailed understanding of the whole manufacturing process, from retail requirements to supply chain compliance and sustainability.
In 2009 she set up Quality Solutions Ltd with the aim of supporting factories, wholesalers and retailers to maintain their requirements, standards and understanding compliance. Since then she has helped many companies and countless products become certifiable and critically, legal. Quality Solutions Ltd has built up industry contacts and optimised the process of accreditation.
Mandy is a qualified auditor in both ISO/ Technical and Social compliance. She has worked with many authorities globally, include Forest Trends & TREE (Timber Regulatory Enforcement Exchange). She has also written editorials for journals such as Furniture News on subjects such as timber compliance within the furniture trade.
Timber and furniture compliance push the world to a more sustainable footing, cementing human rights and ecological progress in the environment. This is important to Mandy. We hear daily about climate change and human right issues. Doing the right thing is important, and the relatively small act of certifying supply chains is a huge part of moving to a sustainable world.
